Reclaiming the Wild Woman: The Rise of the Sacred Feminine

With so much uncertainty in the world, the wisdom of the feminine is calling to be remembered and reclaimed.

Do you feel it?

For centuries, the feminine—the deep, intuitive, cyclical, earth-connected way of being—has been pushed to the edges, dismissed as “soft,” “irrational,” or “unimportant.” But the world is aching for its return.

Women are gathering in circles, reconnecting with nature, reclaiming their voices and their bodies. This isn’t just a trend. It’s not like picking up knitting or trying a new fitness class (though those are valuable too).

This is deep, ancient, and essential.

It’s about remembering who we are—beyond conditioning, beyond productivity, beyond expectations.

When women come together, something powerful happens. We soften and strengthen at the same time. We listen—not just to each other, but to something deeper. We awaken the wisdom that has always lived in our bones.

And this isn’t just for us—it’s for the world.

The Return of the Sacred Feminine

The rise of the sacred feminine isn’t just about women—it’s about balance. Feminine and masculine energies exist within all of us, reflected in yin and yang, the moon and sun, intuition and action.

The issue isn’t masculinity itself but the suppression of the feminine—qualities like rest, intuition, emotional depth, and deep connection—simply because they have been linked to women. These qualities live within us all and shouldn’t be reduced to gender or appearance.

As we rise, we aren’t rejecting the masculine; we are restoring harmony. A world that honours intuition, connection, and the rhythms of nature is a world where all life can thrive.

Five Ways to Embody the Sacred Feminine

There is no one-size-fits-all path to reclaiming the wild woman within. There is no checklist, no formula—because this isn’t about doing, it’s about being. The feminine speaks in whispers, gut feelings, and deep knowing.

If you are looking for ways to reconnect, here are five practices to invite the sacred feminine into your life:

  1. Gather with Women in Sacred Circle

How do you feel about gathering with women—curious, excited, hesitant? For many, it is all of the above. The idea of women’s circles can bring up old wounds, but the key is finding a space where you feel safe, seen, and celebrated—a space where you can show up fully, in your uniqueness, your wonder, and your wildness.

If you are looking for a welcoming, supportive sisterhood, join The Women’s Fire for online and in-person gatherings, including wild woman retreats and seasonal ceremonies.

2. Embrace All of Your Emotions—Even the Messy Ones

The sacred feminine isn’t just love and light—it is also grief, rage, longing, and stillness. True embodiment means welcoming all of it, not just the parts that feel comfortable. If sadness rises, let yourself feel it. If anger burns, explore where it wants to take you.

Last week, I returned from a wild woman retreat in Iceland, and I have cried every day since. This experience reminded me that feeling deeply is not a weakness—it is a return to wholeness.

3. Trust Your Inner Knowing

We are conditioned to seek answers outside ourselves. But you already know. That gut feeling, that deep inner yes or no—trust it.

Start small:

  • What does your body want to eat?

  • How do you really feel about that decision?

  • Notice how your body responds when something is truly right for you.

The more you listen, the stronger your intuition becomes.

4. Reconnect with the Earth

The sacred feminine is deeply tied to nature. Spend time outdoors with presence:

  • Walk barefoot on the earth.

  • Listen to the wind.

  • Observe the moon’s cycles.

  • Place your hands on a tree and feel its stillness.

With the Spring Equinox approaching, it is the perfect time to follow the Wheel of the Year and align with nature’s rhythms. The more we connect with the earth, the more we connect with ourselves.

5. Explore Your Shadows

We all have parts of ourselves we have been taught to suppress—the ones that feel like too much, the ones that do not fit the mould, the ones we have been told are "bad". Shadow work is about turning towards these hidden parts with compassion instead of judgement.

Journalling, inner child work, and exploring triggers can help us reclaim these pieces. When we integrate our shadows, we become whole.
