Is Soul-Centred Adventure Calling You?

Hey, this is Faye here. I’m the community and communications manager for True Nature.

Three years ago, picture me navigating a winding country road, hands clammy as they gripped the steering wheel, battling the temptation to turn the wheel sharply and drive back home.

Has your soul ever called you on an adventure that was out of your comfort zone?

I was answering a call…but also coming very close to pressing a big red ‘end call’ button out of fear of the unknown.

Just a month prior, I stumbled upon a transformative book: "Women Who Run With The Wolves" by Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés. Its pages unearthed a deep, wild part of me, long buried, offering insights into why I felt so parched and disconnected from life.

The book also stirred a bone-deep longing to connect to other wild women who, like me, were weary of the mundane and sought something more.

I randomly googled ‘Wild Women Retreat UK’ and was thunderstruck to see the top result was for one that was happening in a couple of weeks not too far from my house. I knew I had to be there, even though I didn't know anyone or anything about it.

And so, I took the leap, embarking on that winding country road, unsure of what lay ahead.

Honestly, that week changed my life!

Here is a photo of me (blonde in the dress) sharing a wild woman's dedication alongside some of the most warm-hearted women I'd met in my life.

In less than 24 hours, a group of strangers became soul sisters, forging connections deeper than some I'd known for years.

We delved into ritual, estatic dance, nature connection, sharing circles, self-enquiry, reconnecting with my body AND topped off with the most delicious, nourishing food!

These retreats are unique.

Since that milestone moment in my life, I've been privileged to join the True Nature Team, participating in numerous retreats that continue to weave their magic.

Each gathering is a tapestry of transformative experiences, where women find the breakthroughs they've been yearning for.

Often I see women arriving looking tired and weighted down, only to leave glowing with an inner radiance that is magnetic.

Heart of Dartmoor

Part of what makes this retreat special is that the venue lies literally at the heart of Dartmoor, which is a national park in Devon steeped in stone circles, gushing river water and herds of roaming wild ponies.

Sitting in the hot tub under the starry sky, free from the city's artificial glow, feels nothing short of transcendental. We've been blessed to witness meteor showers and other times marvel at the rising of a tangerine-tinted full moon.

These moments, and many like them, are etched into my soul.

Feeling Alive

On that first retreat, I realised how disconnected I'd become from my body, favouring the chatter of my mind over my bodies whispers of intuition.

Each session gently guided us back to our bodies, reconnecting us with their innate wisdom and equipping us with tools to sustain that connection.

Nowadays, when my laptop screen's glare grows too oppressive, I opt for a dance break instead of reaching for another cup of coffee. It's a small but significant shift, born from the bravery of answering life's call that day on the winding road.

There are many times that I haven't been brave enough to answer ‘yes’ to a soul call…but I celebrate that day driving to that retreat I dared to answer it.

If you feel a similar tug on your soul, know that there are retreats awaiting you this year, brimming with magic and possibility. I'll be there to welcome you with open arms, celebrating your decision to embrace this enriching journey.

Love Faye x
