Embrace Your Breasts🍒: A Journey to Self-Love
Faye here.
Last week, I was sat in a genetic doctor's office to talk about hereditary cancer, an appointment I'd put off for years.
At sixteen, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, just slightly older than I am now. Fortunately, she fully recovered, but the fear of inheriting breast cancer has followed me ever since.
I finally addressed these fears with a supportive doctor who plans to investigate my mother's genetics and has arranged for me to start annual mammograms a decade earlier than usual.
I'm sharing this because as women, our relationship with our breasts can be complex, something I've been reflecting on recently.
Last week I spoke to Bryony Bee, who runs courses with True Nature about the energetics of the breast and how they connect with our heart and womb space.
She shared her own experience of when she developed cysts in her breasts at a time when she was feeling betrayed and let down.
She recognised that at this time when she felt so much grief and pain in her heart, her breasts started to swell as if they were trying to carry the pain so her heart didn't have too.
It was a pivotal point in her journey to return to love and reconnect with her body.
This experience, motivated her to re-establish a connection with her breasts through a breast massage technique she learned in one of her first training in sacred womb work.
By creating a daily rhythm of breast massage and other heart-womb practices, she noticed a pivotal shift in her awareness, her capacity to hold these big emotions, and the physical landscape of her body with the cysts disappearing.
As you read this, place your hands on your breasts and ask yourself…
“How do I feel about you?”
“What stories or judgments about you do I make?”
With everything that's come up for me recently, I've decided to join Bryony on her Womb Mysteries Course, which begins on April 24th.
Part of what she is going to teach us is this breast massage technique along with others, and creating rituals of self-care that connect us with our breasts, wombs, emotions and heart.
The archetype of the Rose, a universal symbol of love, will support us with our connection to the divine feminine and developmental path.
To join me on this wonderful course that Bryony is offering.
